The coffee cup method

Most batch input methods based on BDCs and recordings work just fine in background mode with no interaction. Sometimes the batch will run in Display Errors Only in SM35 without any interaction at all. Then some batches need to be run in foreground or in Display Errors Only mode with records needing no more than somebody to press the Enter key. These batches can be run unattended if something is placed on the Enter key.

A coffee cup placed on the keyboard number-pad Enter key or on a laptop keyboard with a wad of paper on top of the Enter key is enough to keep the batch going. Once the batch is complete the SM35 transaction comes back and does nothing with superfluous Enter presses.
